Treatment for Sore Throat

A sore throat can have many causes and treatment is based on them, among which are: the common virus and even the virus that causes mononucleosis and influenza, can cause a sore throat, some viruses can also cause blisters mouth and throat.
Treatment for Sore Throat* Breathing through the mouth can produce throat dryness and pain.
* Postnasal drip can cause a sore throat.
* A sore throat can also be caused by bacteria, being the two most common bacteria that cause it are haemolyticum and Streptococcus, mainly among young adults and are sometimes associated with a red rash.
* Sore throat also occurs after treatment with antibiotics, chemotherapy or other medications that compromise the immune system, candida, commonly known as “thrush”.
* A sore throat that lasts more than two weeks can be a sign of serious illness, such as throat cancer or AIDS.

What I do at home for a sore throat?

Overall, the sore throats must run its course, except for streptococcal infection, but some recommendations for sore throat treatment at home are:
* Gargle with salt water, anesthetic sprays and lozenges can provide temporary relief of pain. (Caution: pills and candy are a choking hazard to children. Avoid use in young children and provided medical prescription in between).
* A humidifier may be helpful in relieving symptoms, especially in sore throats caused by mouth breathing and dry air.
* Acetaminophen or ibuprofen can help control pain.

General considerations

Sore throats are common, especially in children. Most of the time, the pain is worse in the morning and improves as the day progresses. Like colds, the vast majority of sore throats are caused by viral infections, which means that NOT respond to antibiotics. Many people have mild sore throat at the beginning of every cold.

When the nose or sinuses become infected, drainage can run down the back of the throat and irritate it, especially at night, or the throat itself can be infected. Some viruses can cause specific types of sore throat. For example, Coxsackievirus sometimes causes blisters in the throat, especially in late summer or early fall. Mononucleosis and the flu can also cause specific viral throat infections.

Vaginal infections are some common problems in women, as well as for medical care. It has been reported that vaginal infections are the presenting complaint in about 10 million cases per year. Many women with vaginal discomfort often self-medicate, which is wrongful behavior, because these women often are given inadequate treatment leading to persistent infection, cervical injury or, in the recurrence of infections.

Vaginal infections are formed into 3 groups: bacterial vaginosis, trichomoniasis and vulvovaginal candidiasis. These infections usually respond appropriately to treatment, may have flaws however elusive cure if not establishing a correct diagnosis or treatment indicated that it is not adequate. To avoid these failures, it is important that the affected woman go to a medical consultation, and let the doctor who diagnosed the infection and indicate that therapy should be used.
